TITLE: Prohibiting landfill disposal of certain electronic devices

FULL ANALYSIS:
This bill establishes a prohibition on disposal of covered electronic devices in
landfills. These devices would be prohibited from disposal in solid waste landfills in West
Virginia. The Department of Environmental Protection is to promulgate rules to
implement this prohibition.
FISCAL ANALYSIS. No impact.
COMMENTS:
The House Government Organization Committee amended the bill to make some
technical revisions to the bill and to extend the effective date of the prohibition one year,
until January 1, 2012.
